Origin: Bud was created by a different Hoborg from a different Neverhood in an alternate reality of the Never-verse. The last thing he could remember was falling out of the sky through a hole when he woke up in Willie's room. He didn't recognize anything but the picture of Ottoborg... and so he supposed that he had landed on a piece of Ottoborg's world. He decided to look for Ottoborg but when he found his way to the Public Park, however, Bud realized that he was actually in the Neverhood! Bud could not believe it! He had made it home! As he shouted out in joy that he was finally home, the Neverhoodians came out of their places to stare at him with odd faces and whisper amongst each other, "Who is that guy?"
Hoborg came out of the castle to check out all of the commotion. When he got to the pubic park, Bud was surrounded by the other Neverhoodians and they were listening to his tale.
Hoborg was then among them and came to the front of the group. At the first sight of Hoborg, Bud ran to him and hugged him tight. Although Hoborg didn't recognize Bud, Bud kept saying, "I'm back Hoborg! I'm back! I'm so sorry I left the Neverhood and disobeyed you. I'll never do it again, I promise!"
Hoborg then realized that Bud had found a portal in his travels that brought him to this side of their existence. That Bud was a possible creation he could have developed in another reality. Infact, later on Bud talked about the righteousness of Klogg something of which everyone did not understand. In Bud's reality of the Neverhood, Klogg had chosen the path of goodness and decided not to take the Neverhood Crown. Bud was devastated to hear that Klogg was bad in this world, however he was greatly pleased to meet Klaymen for the first time, because Klaymen had not been created in his reality.
Profile: Bud had disobeyed Hoborg and left the Neverhood in his reality and had to go through much pain and fought many enimies. His left arm had been burnt by Klay Dragoons and in effect became baked hard and discolored to a darker shade compared to the rest of his skin. He is able to use it as a weapon when fighting. As it says in his autobiography that he wrote later on:
"...first I was attacked by Victoids, and then I landed on this strange planet where these klay beasts breathed fire! One of them burnt my left hand with a blast of flames and now it feels so hard that I can use it as a weapon sometimes! I also encountered these odd Klay Animals, called Kats. I wish I could have kept one because Kats are furry, cute and cuddly."
Hoborg liked the description of Kats by Bud's tale so much that he created his own version of these creatures specifically for Bud. It was made of black Klay and Bud named it Zat. Zat is now Bud's personal pet.
Bud also has the ability of seeing in even the most pitch darkness. Hitting the orange button on his torso makes the orange bar and button on his shoulder light up to brighten any dark place! It's kind of like a lamp.
Bud hates ticks! He can't stand them. They're disgusting, ugly and annoying. He hates them more than Weasels.
He loves the Neverhood and everyone in it and is whole heartedly good.
His hobby is writing. His favorite sandwich requires cheese, pickles and klay-meat.
