Origin: After Klogg declared himself the new ruler of the Neverhood, he still wanted to show he could do better. He made his own being, based on Hoborg's original plans, but without whatever he saw as 'flaws'. This resulted in a smaller, weaker being, unable to challenge him. As Klogg's twisted idea of the perfect creation, he programmed her will to bend to him and him alone. If he gives a direct order, she is helplessly forced to follow it. If he denies her anything, she becomes completely unable to do it. This enabled him to keep a sentient being around to do his degrading chores, and to be spiteful to if he felt like it, without worrying that she would rebel and end his reign, no matter how much she wanted to.
Profile: Instead of just being a mindless helper as Klogg intended she decided that her purpose in life would be to annoy Klogg as much as possible, find ways to make fun of him, and think up methods of revenge before he forbids them. By devoting herself to defying her own creator, Kleo followed in his footsteps without realising.
Her personality developed around Klogg, making her generally wary and suspicious of others, especially authority figures. She will be surprised if anyone is genuinely friendly to her or appreciates her. She expected to be overjoyed when Klaymen finally defeated Klogg and liberated the Neverhood, but she finds the peaceful lifestyle strangely hollow and meaningless.
